Some Brane-world Models for Warped Extra Dimensions

报告内容摘要

The idea of extra dimensions opens  a new way to solve the gauge hierarchy problem---the large difference between  the electroweak scale (～ 1TeV) and the Planck scale  (10^16 TeV). The two famous models are the Arkani-Hamed-Dimopoulos-Dvali  (ADD) braneworld model with large extra dimensions and the Randall-Sundrum  one with warped extra dimension. In this talk we will introduce some new  models that can also solve the gauge hierarchy problem but and predict new  phenomenology.

报告人简介

刘玉孝教授简介，国家自然科学基金“优秀青年基金”获得者，教育部“新世纪优秀人才支持计划”入选者，入选甘肃省领军人才；2009年获第九届“甘肃省十大杰出青年”称号。2001年本科毕业于兰州大学物理学院；2001年至2006年先后师从赵书城教授和段一士教授，2006年6 月获理论物理专业博士学位(博士期间获全国优秀博士学位论文提名论文奖和第三届中国青少年科技创新奖)；2006 年7 月留校工作；2008 年6 月被兰州大学聘为教授；2008 年12 月被兰州大学聘为博士生导师。主要从事广义相对论、规范场论、额外维、膜世界和W 弦理论等领域的研究工作。在额外维与膜世界理论、引力理论、黑洞物理和W 弦理论方面开展了一系列研究工作，在Phys.Rev.Lett.、Phys.Rev.D、JHEP、Phys.Lett.B 等国际知名学术刊物上发表了110余篇SCI 学术论文，被引用2000余次。
