Topology is now a central
concept of condensed matter physics and related materials science.
Topological states are expected to be useful for important applications such
as spintronics and decoherence-free quantum computation. In this talk, I will
introduce our recent works: (1) novel quantum anomalous Hall insulator
supporting spin-polarized, dissipationless edge current, (2) topological
photonic crystal based on dielectric material, such as silicon, and (3)
Majorana bound states in topological superconductors.
