Experiments at Low Temperatures

I wil discuss the physics of some of the high precision experiments at low temperatures that have been undertaken by my group over the past years. Properties of materials can change radically with cryogenic cooling (including magnetism, thermal conduction and heat capacity). This talk will discuss these aspects and how they affect our precision measurements.

报告人简介

Michael Tobar 教授在澳大利亚的Monash大学取得理学学士和荣誉工学学位，然后于1994年在西澳大利亚大学取得物理学的博士学位。目前他是西澳大利亚大学物理学院的Winthrop讲座教授以及澳大利亚研究理事会Laureate Fellow，以及澳大利亚科学院和工程院两院院士。
